REMOVAL & INSTALLATION

The PCV valve regulates crankcase ventilation during various engine operating conditions. Inspect the PCV valve system every 60,000 miles or every 36 months. Toyota Motor Corporation recommends replacing the PCV valve every 15,000 miles.

  1. Check the ventilation hoses for leaks or clogging. Clean or replace as necessary.

  3. Locate the PCV valve in the valve cover and pull it out.

  1. If the PCV valve failed testing, it will require replacement.

  3. Installation is in the reverse order of removal procedure. Replace ventilation hose and clamp if necessary.
